"All we need is a little bit of momentum
Breakdown these walls that we've built around ourselves
All we need is a little bit of inertia"

The words don't quite reach her ears, rather, its more like she can comprehend what she's being told as her face shows slight interest and the action of paying attention, however once they reach her brain is almost like they dissolve into thin air, nonexistent. Her mind however stays in another place, anywhere really as long as it was not in this meeting that was being held to discuss some arising problems in Alternia lately. Tyrian-purple eyes trail off to the side where Eridan sits, he's paying so much more attention than her but that's something that's really common.

When she first became the heir to the troll monarchy, she wasn't expected to be brimmed with lots of work to do, yes, in fact she was told that this would happen, as running a whole race was not an easy task, but the whole thing just became dull after a while.

Her grey fingers tap her arm rest, golden jewelry clicking softly together as one of the ministers looks at her to approve something new on the system, it takes her a minute to respond as her lips turn into a thin line, eyes furrowed slightly and she can feel all eyes on her, it doesn't make her nervous, it just makes her more impatient to get over with this meeting. So with a smile and a nod of her head, she gives the minister her approval on it and after his face shows he's rather pleased, they go back to discussing more papers with different other topics and the way her eyebrows twitch do not go unnoticed by Eridan.

With a clear of his throat all eyes are on him and the conversation ceases, Eridan's standing up and the way he does declares so much authority that Feferi hadn't realized up until now, he's grown taller than her and is certainly not the same thirteen year old that used to be a brat a couple of sweeps back.

"I think that this is more than enough for today, the Heiress has some duties to attend to," Eridan's own purples eyes meet Feferi's briefly, "Any paperwork that needs to be sorted out can be left in my headquarters. Now if you'll excuse us."

And with that Feferi decides that she couldn't have the best moirail in the whole world, though she'd beg to differ at times.

Once they find themselves walking down the halls, footsteps bouncing off the walls and her long dress flowing behind her, Feferi clings to Eridan's arm and pretends to not notice how his defined face is dusted by a light purple colour, if it weren't for his voice, his face expressions would've given away how startled -if that's the word she could take to describe him, he was at the sudden pale affection, but nonetheless kept his composure.

They might be moirails and the whole palace knew of this, but Eridan liked to keep the image he had won over the sweeps, but Feferi knew this was mostly because of her. Not that she minded though.

"You know," His eyes trailed to the side and he's met with her own orbs, they brim with slight curiosity, "trying to skip your duties doesn't make the problems go away, Feferi."

"Problems?" Her voice is laced with curiosity, she stops holding onto Eridan's arm before speeding up her pace, her heels clicking softly in a rhythmic pace on the floor. Her eyes look around the familiar hallway, spotting the stairs she walks towards them. "Eridan, you dummy! Alternia has no problems, I mean, everyone's getting along, right?"

She adds in a smile and waits for Eridan to catch up, his face adorns a frown as he stands besides her. Three steps already up, she proves taller than his person.

"Would be getting along, but not everyone has your mindset."

    "Well then they all should."

Because her word is the law, even though she likes to not think of herself as the highest authority. She has power and rules and work to do, and for a whole race to function she has to be the one in charge right? So maybe she can take breaks whenever she feels like it, taking care of cuttlefish and other sea creatures was exhausting enough back when she was just a thirteen year old troll.

She doesn't give Eridan the chance to finish as she turns around, her long dark hair floats behind her with the sudden movements, she begins to walk up the stairs, taking into mind that Eridan's form is following after her, albeit a bit too slow. She doesn't say anything, instead they both walk up the endless stairs in silence. Her eyes fixated on the round windows that give a view outside the palace, the part that's submerged under water at least, and watches as various fishes swim by.

"Where exactly are we heading? I thought [Name] wasn't living in the palace anymore."

Feferi usually doesn't walk all the way up the stairs, it takes too much time. Which really was the excuse to not visit her matesprit all the time, but the troll was actually becoming closeted for a few weeks, which greatly worried The Heiress, it was also mixed in with the irritation that no matter how many times she asked, how many times she begged, [Name] just wouldn't tell her what was wrong.

And it wasn't everyday you had Feferi begging someone for details.

"Of course she is." Feferi states this as if it's the most normal thing in the world, she stops dead on her tracks when Eridan grabs her hand.

"Fef," his voice holds that reproach tone that she greatly dislikes, "this smells like trouble."

She actually tilts her head to the side at the statement, she was clearly aware of the rising controversy of The Heiress having a matesprit that not only was not a highblood, but wasn't even anywhere near it. A lowblood, one that shouldn't have even had a chance to speak with her, let alone be in one of her quadrants.

Feferi remembers that quite clearly, the monarchy had found out about it and have actually threatened the female Feferi holds feeling for, which caused her become quite outraged with the situation. It just so happened that apparently her quadrants should only be filled by highbloods, which was quite and utter crap to her. The situation came to an according where [Name] wouldn't be living in the palace and that only Feferi was allowed to visit.

She still found her ways around it, as [Name] wasn't exactly "in" the palace. The meetings, everything important was held on the lower part of the huge building, so locating [Name] on the top part was her clever idea. She was just clever like that. The only downside was that she wasn't allowed to go anywhere without someone accompanying her, due to security and whatnot.

"Eridan, I'm going to see my matesprit now," her voice holds a tone to it that sends shivers down Eridan's spine, he lets go and she narrows her eye slightly, tucking a strand of hair behind her fins before her composure goes back to her usual cheerful demeanor. "I'll see you later though! Aradia invited us to go out later in the morning!"

She finishes the skips towards the top part, finding herself in front of the door that she's grown accustomed to in the past few sweeps that have passed. Her grey hands trace lightly the golden details in the door, all made up of swirls that come to form an elaborate picture, one that has somewhat faded away and she can no longer remember what held. Such a shame too, Feferi remembers that the picture can't be restored because this was the top part of the castle. The water had diminished around the 80th step upwards, hence why no one around the palace ventured any further, though they could.

They just didn't find any sort of importance to the top part of the palace, much to The Heiress's delight.

That and the solemn fact that behind the door resided the unwanted guest by the monarchy, so the situation might get a little out of hand if they were to find out that [Name] was not completely out of the castle.

Feferi gives a light knock on the door, but finds it open as it pushes slightly forward with an old creek, her fins catch the small sound of movement around the room before it all goes quiet. Furrowing her eyebrows she peeked inside, her porphyra eyes scanning the room, her expression of worrying only given away by the smile that tugs at her lips.

"[Name]," she calls out the name in a singsong-y way, stepping inside the room and closing the door behind her with a soft click, Feferi scans the room and pouts when she can't find her matesprit anywhere, "C'mon you lovely doofish!" Her face is outshined by the bright smile that plants on her features, the use of fish puns coming back again around the other female. She rarely used fish puns, at the most to  appear more serious at work. That was rarely though, she used them all the time.

The room upon she finds herself in, is quite large in comparison to the meeting room. The walls are nothing more than windows with lots of dark curtains for when the night time sets in, spaces between them to hand up portraits or other miscellaneous stuff. [Name] enjoyed watching everything outside in the day, especially when the moon was up high and the stars shined down on the ocean, another benefit of leaving on the top part of the castle, near the shore where she could easily walk outside if desired. The only downside was the whole night time, when the blazing sun was out and about and the windows were a hassle to maintain dark, gladly enough, Feferi had the best type of fabrics used to cover them up, not taking away the delightful colour scheme of the room.

Besides the windows, various couches were set out in pale colours of [Favorite colour 1] and [Favorite colour 2], pillows made of silk were sprawled out, along other various plushes, gifts given to [Name] by the Heiress herself. Various bookshelves along the walls with different drawings of various things, the walls were also filled with various portraits of the two of them, so of the pictures taken when [Name] and Feferi began dating.

The floor was cold under her bare feet, The Heiress noticed, and presumed to head towards a pile of plushies and various pillows, sure enough her eyes spotted the familiar candycorn-coloured horns that peeked out from below the mountain of soft cute things, there was some movement from below the objects before they went back to motionless. The sound of light snores invaded the otherwise currently silent room and Feferi stifled a giggle.

Of course she hadn't seen [Name], she had ended up falling asleep on her 'soft pile' again.

When she called out once more the name of the other troll, there was a soft sound and then from below the pile a head poked out, messy black hair accompanied by [blood colour] orbs that seemed dazed, contrasted in a lovely way with her grey skin. [Name]'s eyes trailed off towards the curtains, taking her a couple of seconds to realize that she had overslept all night, and the dark skies and the moon up in the sky that gave the room enough light, only notified her that it was already day.

Feferi sat down on the pile, next to [Name] and gave the other a small peck, [Name] hummed in delight.

"Did I sleep all night?" [Name] asked, her voice groggy and the slight trace of regret in it, "Fuck, I was supposed to go see my moirail tonight!" she gave a complete whine before resting her head on Feferi's shoulder, ignoring the huge waves of charcoal coloured hair that cascaded down The Heiress's back.

Feferi didn't inquire on why [Name] needed to go out during the night. Her moirail was a rainbow drinker, hence the troll was mostly awake during night time, Feferi still didn't understand how they would withstand the blazing hot sun of Alternia. Nonetheless she poked [Name] in the arm, a smile that made the other's heart swell with pure warmness.

"It's no surprise you did, you haven't been sleeping whale lately," Feferi's brow furrowed slightly and [Name] turned to look at her with mild confusion, her face coated with the a tint of [blood colour] blush from embarrassment.

    "H-how do you know that?!"

"I'm in your red quadrant [Name]," Feferi stated this with her usual smile and a casual roll of her eyes, to which [Name] pouted, "plus, I'm The Heiress, it is my duty to take care of all of my loyal subjects."

[Name] shook her head, pushing aside a pillow that was starting to bother her, turning to face Feferi. "Oh God, please don't tell me you'll be taking care of me from now on."

Feferi giggled, grabbing two plushies before hugging them, "I'll take care of you until we die."

"Fef," [Name] shook her head, a smile on her face, "I'm no cuttlefish, I can take care of myself."

"Even so, I like taking care of you! You're my cute little cuttlefish!"

"I'm pretty sure that cuttlefish do well on their own, thank you very much." [Name] stuck out her tongue before throwing one of the pillows at Feferi, who dodge the oncoming attack. Her jewelry clinked together softly, catching [Name]'s attention. Her face went sour right away, but tried to shoo the feeling away. However Feferi had already noticed.

She always did.

"What's wrong?" Feferi leaned forward, her delicate hands going to tuck a strand of [Name]'s soft locks behind her ear. Her eyes shone with worry and that single thing made her heart clench painfully. However, as Feferi retreated her arm back into place, [Name] couldn't help but examine the difference between the two of them.

Feferi was adorned from head to toe in extravagant clothing, so colorful that any other troll would call her fashion taste tacky, but she was a highblood, this was a common trait. Her hands, fingers and every other place that could hold gold jewelry was not put to waste, she was from head to toe covered in it, not too much for it to look ridiculous, but enough to show her status in the hemospectrum. Not to mention her eyes, her eyes were such a rich and colourful colour that in any other occassion, back when she was doubtful of the relationship even working out, [Name] would've backed out completely from ever filling a highblood's quadrant, not in pale or black, hell, not even ashen, but red

While she herself, wore the simplest clothing, befit for someone of her status on the hemospectrum, [Name] wasn't someone you'd take a double look at it, she was plain but still didn't complain about her looks. She was already overwhelmed with all of the extravagant gifts and accommodations Feferi always gave her, but she couldn't complain for fear of upsetting Feferi, who is actually one to get upset incredibly fast, much to some people's knowledge. The fact that the council did not want to see her lowblooded face anywhere near The Heiress was also something more to add to her pile of worrying.

"I was just thinking..." [Name] spoke softly, letting her back fall onto the pile, lying down on it, shortly after Feferi joined in, [Name]'s hands reached to find Feferi's, once their hands touched, she intertwined their fingers together. "about, stuff... life... us."

"Us?" Feferi asked, her voice laced with slightly concern. Not because the thought of [Name] ending the relationship, which she was sure wouldn't happen. In fact, that was the last thing that crossed her mind when the other said the word. The only thing going through her mind was the whole dilemma about their relationship, and sure enough she had hit the spot.

"Yeah, us. Apparently it hasn't settled down."

    "How do you know?"

"I overheard Eridan talking about it earlier with some trolls from the council," [Name] pointed at one of the windows that had a view towards the ocean, near there was a spot that was usually used by the council and those in high positions. The location didn't give away the lower part of the tower where [Name] resided at, where the windows where at. The only thing one would see is the tower and nothing more. "Got me thinking."

[Name] shrugged and Feferi gave a small sigh, though she tried to keep the smile on her face.

"You don't have to worry about that, nothing's wrong."

    "Yeah right."

Feferi squeezed her hand in a comforting manner, turning her head to the side to meet [blood colour] orbs that stared at her with a loving gaze, "I meant it [Name]! Everything's fine! And if you hear some of those idiots talking bad about us, about you, then you can tell them to clam up!"

[Name] let out a small giggle when Feferi used the fish pun, and the latter's heart fluttered with joy. Hearing her mateprit's laugh was so nice, she actually enjoyed it so much!

"Now, I don't want you talking about subjects that do not exist!" Feferi made her way closer to [Name] and nuzzled her side, minding her horns as to not hurt the other, "little cuttlefishes are supposed to sleep and stay healthy!"

[Name] quirked a simple eyebrow but said nothing about. She was still thinking about the previous dilemmas, but decided to push it back into the furthest depths of her mind. Feferi rarely came over nowadays, she should just stop worrying about such trivial matters. Afterall, if Feferi said it was going to be okay, then it certainly was.

Or so she hoped.

    "This little cuttlefish then wants to have a companion today." [Name] jokingly suggested, and was surprised when Feferi nodded with too much glee. Her eyes widened, blushing she gave out a startled reply;

"But Fef! It's daytime, you're supposed to be attending meetings and working and-"

[Name]s cut off when a pair of soft lips capture her owns, it's a gentle movement, captivating and she realizes that she missed the way her lips felt, how her mouth tasted and of just how wonderful it was whenever they shared moments like these. [Name]'s hands find their way into The Heiress's abundant locks as she runs her hands through the wavy locks.

The kiss doesn't last long, but by the time they part, both faces are flushed.

Feferi gives her a genuine smile, those types of rare smiles that [Name] only gets to see in a couple of instances. The highblood gives one quick peck on her nose before speaking;

"I have all day to complete my duties, besides... I missed you."
